Me and my family.
FRONT ROW: My dad, Emilio, Me, My dog ( Pogi ), My mom, Joaquin. This is my college graduation and we decided to take a family picture. My name is Paula Aponte, I'm 25 and graduated from Broward College with a associates degree in Mass communications / social media specialist. Now I am working on earning my bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education / Development.
I was born in Bogota, Colombia on July 9, 1997 but I only lived there a few years before I first moved away from my birth place. I was born with a difficulty to walk. I took years of therapy to hopefully walk and the effort worked. I was also born with a general developmental delay. My whole life I have had extra teachers in the classroom helping me and other students be successful in school. Then I moved to Mexico, where I stayed there 4 years and I still had to take therapy. And then I had to move again to the Philippines, which is in Asia, and we lived there for 5 years. This was my very first time away from Latin America. I didn't have to take therapy anymore. The reason my family had to move a lot is because my dad worked for Coca Cola and many people want him to go to different places. Now my dad works for a different company and my family lives in Atlanta. I have two younger brothers named Joaquin and Emilio, Joaquin is currently 15 years old and Emilio is 17. My mom's name is Maria Isabel Archila and my dad is Guillermo Aponte. In January 2015 we moved to South America in Ecuador and we got a new member of the family, our dog Pogi is a French Mastiff. My brothers and I went to school in Academia Cotopaxi Quito, Ecuador. |
